Local Information

The house is situated in a small farming community, just north of Bussiere Dunoise.

The town of Gueret is less than ½ an hours drive away, although the village is visited daily by the local baker. The Butcher also visits twice a week. Around the community there are plenty of walking areas with fantastic views across the hills.

Gueret is situated in the Gueret mountains between the valleys Creuse and Gartempe.  The town grew up around the monastery founded in 690 and has some rewarding architecture mainly centred around Place Bonnyaud and the 'vielle ville'.

There is also a magnificent botanical garden situated alongside the art and archaeological museum with rare aromatic plants and flowers.  Gueret makes a good base for exploring the delights of rural Creuse with its numerous opportunities for cycling, walking, fishing, golf and other outdoor activities.
